Bilingual Chinese 12/16：第八课 我喜欢蓝色

Today we reviewed Lesson 7 and started Lesson 8: 我喜欢蓝色.

Math K 12/16: Unit 8 Length

今天我们学习了第八单元：长度。
小朋友试着用脚步、直尺来丈量教室的长度，量了彼此的身高和腰围。
需要掌握的知识点：
1. 比较长度（高度），适当的时候借助数数、测量等手段
    对应的英文术语：long - longer - longest, tall - taller- tallest, short - shorter - shortest,
2. 学会简单的测量方法（直尺，知道从0刻度线开始，知道如何读数）

家庭作业：
练习册：138-144页。
因为有2周放假，可以在假期间完成前面的review部分。练习册116-123页。

提前祝大家圣诞节、新年快乐！我们1月6日见（上Unit 9：Weight，就结束上册的学习了）。1月13日是Online class，学校安排Parents Meeting，我们会留一半时间来做 Final Review。尤其是20以内加减法部分，会重点给孩子再梳理复习一遍。1月20日Final Exam，1月27日开始新学期课程（家长们可以开始从新加坡数学官网或者Amazon上订购1B的课本和练习册了^_^）。

Math K 12/09: 形状

今天我们复习了上周学的20以内加减法（小朋友们掌握得还不是很扎实，还要继续巩固哦，我们会在期末考试前的一周安排一次总复习，大家也可以把平时积攒的问题整理好集中答疑）。

新课内容是第七章：形状（shapes）。同学们基本都已经认识几个基本形状：
circle 圆形，triangle 三角形，rectangle 长方形，square 正方形，diamond 菱形（书中不做要求）。需要掌握的技能：
1. 认识形状（书68-70页）
2. 分组归类（根据形状、大小、颜色等）（书71-73页）
3. 比较形状大小（书74页）
4. 找排列规律pattern（书75页）
5. 补齐形状，重新分割组合形状（书76-77页）

Bilingual Chinese 12/09: Lesson 7 哥哥八岁

Welcome our new TA Alice:)

Today all of the six students did a very good job in the presentation: introduce the family in Chinese. I am glad to see how the language we learnt in class can be connected to and applied in the daily life. Keep up the good work!

We learnt Lesson 7 哥哥八岁. The students should be able to ask and answer "how old are you" in Chinese. Key points in this lesson:

Math K 12/04：20以内加减法

今天我们完成了第六章20以内数字的第二部分：加减法（这也是本学期的重难点），希望大家引起重视。
知识点小结：
1.凑十法： 9+4=（9+1）+3=13
2.拆分法： 13+4=10+（3+4）=17；16-4=（10+6）-4=10+（6-4）=12
3.数轴法： 加法往后，减法往前（具体见课本67页）

家庭作业：
练习册95-115页
（116-123页是复习内容，我们留到后面放假再做吧！这周作业已经比较多了，小朋友可以平均分配，争取每天写3页哦）

Math K on 11/18: Unit 6: Numbers to 20

今天我们学习了第六单元：20以内数字（课本54-61页）。

小朋友们到白板上复习了昨天学习的序数词（1st，2nd，3rd，4th... 10th），完成了书本中的任务，还做了顺数、倒数、间隔数数数字的游戏。

知识要点：掌握11-20的中英文（会连线）；懂得比较大小（greater, smaller, greatest, smallest）; 找规律填空(find the missing number)。

Math K online class 11/17: Unit 5. Ordinal Numbers

这节课我们上了Ordinal Numbers序数，要求掌握1st 到10th的写法（4以后都是th结尾，1st 2nd 3rd这3个比较特殊，让小朋友根据读音来写就可以）

难点是要分清楚从左到右，还是从右到左。在workbook里做题要小心。

Bilingual Chinese Online Class 11/11: 第五课 我姓王

Today we had our third online class this semester. We learnt Lesson 5: 我姓王。

In Chinese，the family name 姓 goes first and the given name 名 follows, which is different from that in English: Given name + Family name.

Key points:
1.  Recognize the words: 姓 什么 名字 叫
2.  Learn the pinyin：d t n l
3.  learn the radicals of 叫（口字旁，口：mouth），名（夕：sunset）

Math K 11/04: midterm exam

今天孩子们迎来了第一次期中考试，恭喜Justin获得了100分，另外三位同学也很棒，只是有些粗心，犯了小错，很可惜！

记得学会做完题目后要仔细检查，养成好习惯！

We had our first midterm exam today.
Most of the students did a good job in both the written and oral part. I am glad to see your progress and I can imagine the great effort you have made at home.

Learning Chinese is not an easy task. Let's just keep up the hard work.

Math K Lesson 7:Review + Worksheet

鉴于家长们反映减法对小朋友来说还是有些难，今天的数学课我们主要回顾了前面学习的知识内容，重点复习了加法与减法。

家庭作业：
1. 练习册59-65页。
2. 完成课堂中未完成的讲义部分

强调下作业要求：
1. 起始阶段家长陪同完成作业，适当时候给予指导，后期慢慢淡出，鼓励孩子独立完成，强调小朋友自己的作用。
2. 每次老师批改作业后（谢谢我们的助教Apple老师^_^），小朋友们要及时做订正（温故而知新，很重要！从错误中总结知识，很重要！）
3. 要用不同颜色的笔做订正（还是强烈建议小朋友在低年级阶段用铅笔做题，做错了可以擦去重写，但在订正阶段，用另外一种颜色的笔来做，避免混淆）
4. 作业不仅力求正确，也要整洁。培养良好的学习习惯，从娃娃抓起：P

Bilingual Chinese Lesson 7: Review Unit 4, Introduction to Chinese Calligraphy

Dear all,

All of the nine students attended school today:) Nathan and Lauren have won their first prize by collecting 5 stickers from Ms. Li. Congratulations! Other kids, come on :P

We reviewed Unit 4, and had the introduction to Chinese Calligraphy. Everyone was excited to get the brush and "magic paper" to write with. Please take good care of them, and remember to bring them back to school each week. By the end of the school year, you can keep them as your own.

Important hint:

Next week (Nov. 4th) we will have our midterm test (Oral test + writing test). And on Nov. 11th, we will have our third online course this year.

I will give each student test paper to write with. Students should know:

1) numbers from 1-10 in Chinese 一二三四五六七八九十, basic Chinese characters (remember those in workbooks of tracing: 老师您早你好再见，对不起没关系不客气

2) pinyin of  a o e i u ü with 4 tones, and pinyin of b p m f 

3) the basic strokes/radicals/ structures of a Chinese character, and count how many strokes are there in a character;

and each kid needs to come to me, to 1) read the words in the textbook, 2) have a short conversation with me in Chinese. 

If you cannot come, please inform me ahead.

I will try to make the test simple and basic. Everyone, please get yourself well prepared.
