Math K Lesson 1:numbers 0 to 10

Thank you for coming the first class of Math K today. The kids have done a great job!
I left part of the workbook as homework. Please remember to bring them back next week.

By the end of this section, what students should be able to do:
  1. count within 10 (including 0 to denote an empty set)
  2. read and write the number symbols (numerals) 0 to 10 and the corresponding number-words
  3. compare two numbers within 10
  4. count backward from 10 to 0
  5. arrange the numbers 0 to 10 in order
Materials we use:
  1. counters (buttons, coins or others)
  2. numeral cards (0, 1, 2, 3, ... 10)
  3. number-word cards (zero, one, two, ...ten)
Keywords:
  1. number, numeral, number word
  2. how many, count
  3. match, compare, same number, more, less
Homework:
Workbook: Page 8, 10, 11,12, 14
