Math K 1B 第一课 Comparing Numbers
春季学期开始啦！几位同学都很棒，带来了上册的练习册让老师检查订正情况，表扬一下！
今天我们学习了新加坡数学1B的第一课：比较数字。
小朋友需要掌握2个知识点：

我们复习巩固凑十法、退位法，今天还教了小朋友们竖式减法。爸爸妈妈们在家里可以和孩子们一起来做练习（最后一幅图可以留到期末学到100以内加减法来用）
家庭作业：练习册7-17页
学有余力的小朋友也可以打印老师贴出的图来做bonus 练习题。

Bilingual Chinese 1 Final Exam
Dear Parents,
Today we had the final exam for 2017 fall semester. Most students did a great job in the oral parts. For the written parts, it's a challenge but some of the kids did do it well and I was glad to see each kid's progress in Chinese learning.
Please keep on the good work, and practice more in the coming new semester. Practice makes perfect, which is always true :P
01/27 is our first day of spring semester. We will have two new students: 白京辉 (Alex) and 白京皇 (Daniel). Welcome！！
We will start with Lesson 9: 我们的校服 our school uniform. As I mentioned, we will add some contents of Chinese Culture to our class in the following weeks. I will prepare some colour papers, to teach students about the traditional Chinese Paper-cut. Please bring a safety scissor to class next Saturday.
Last but not least, do not forget about the song 新年好！

Bilingual Chinese Class: First Parent Meeting + Final Review
Dear Parents,
Thanks for joining our first parent meeting this semester, and many thanks to the constructive suggestions that you have made. I have taken them down and would forward to the principal, and have a discussion with BCS' admin team.
Please get well prepared for the coming final exam ( See teaching blog on 01/06). For the oral part, I will randomly choose 2 passages in the textbook and ask the student to read; I will also have a short conversation including the basic greetings, asking about names, an introduction of families, and what his/her favourite colour, to see the student's response, and pronunciation.

Math K Final Review
今天我们做了期末复习，要点如下：
1. 掌握1-20数字的正确书写，并会比较大小，会根据规律找数字。懂得序数词（1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th,5th,6th等）的意思并会实际应用。
2. 了解长度、重量的概念，并会比较。
3. 掌握基本的形状，根据规律找pattern中缺失的图形。
4. 20以内的加减法（重点+难点）。
特别需要加强的知识点：
1）加法和减法的区分（小朋友有时候会不注意+，-,会直接想当然写答案，提醒孩子先看清楚题目再动手）
2）20以内加法：凑十法（先熟悉配对凑十的数字：1+9=2+8=3+7=4+6=5+5=10，然后理解如何计算诸如8+3=8+2+1=11的运算）
3）理解减法和加法互为逆运算，学会反向检查：如3+4=7， 所以7-3=4,7-4=3.
4）20以内减法：借助数轴或数个数等概念，帮助孩子在开始阶段学习减法。慢慢熟悉之后，加快速度。
下周是本学期最后一次课，请大家带好练习册（下周六前要全部完成咯）。老师会检查每个小朋友的以往作业。认真做好订正的同学会有一个小奖品哦！

Bilingual Chinese 1: Final Review and Parent Meeting Sign Up
Thanks for coming to the first class in the year of 2018, in an extremely cold day.
We finished learning Lesson 8: 我喜欢蓝色 today, and practised the song for BCS Chinese New Year Gala 新年好：）The kids have done a good job!
Key Points:
1. pinyin: zh ch sh r
2. radicals of 喜 欢 颜 色 红 蓝 （See Textbook Page 50 ）
3. Review the structures of characters （汉字结构）, counting the strokes of characters（数笔画）.
Homework：
1. Textbook Page 47, Part 3 (Listen to the recording. Tick what is true and cross what is false).
2. Review and prepare for the final exam on 01/21/2018.
Contents of the final exam:
a) be able to write the basic characters and understand their meanings （早 你 好 再 见 对 不 起 几 个 人 口 没 有 名 字 王 天 一 什 么 白 色）
b) be able to circle the basic radicals and can match to their meanings

我们今天学完了上册的最后一课：Weights（重量）。小朋友们比较了生活中不同物品的轻重，也尝试着用老师带来的厨房用电子秤称了身边的小物品：剪刀、笔、橡皮、书本、巧克力等等。
主要知识点：
1. 比较轻重：heavy, heavier, heaviest;
light, lighter, lightest
2. 理解若天平保持水平，则两端物品重量相等的概念。知道“等量代换”，如一个小橘子=4颗巧克力等。
作业：练习册P145-150
复习题P151-155（是下周的作业，也欢迎小朋友提前完成^_^）
