Bilingual Chinese Review + Lesson 14: 我的文具

In today's online class, we practice the self-introduction in Chinese, and reviewed the contents of animals, colors, fruits & vegetables, and names of foods. I wish the students will be able to order some basic food in Chinese restaurants when they visit China in the future.

Math K 期中考试

今天我们进行了第二学期的期中考试，内容涵盖了比较大小、图表理解、找规律填数字，40以内加减乘除运算（重难点），小朋友的表现让老师很惊艳！

基于有限的识字量，目前几次考试老师都会把题目（中英文）都给同学们读一遍并做简单解释，不过后面慢慢的，要锻炼大家自己阅读题目的能力啦！

最后一题附加题，是理解乘法的本质（相同数字的连续相加），大家也做得不错。家长们在家可以陪孩子一起过一遍今日的试卷。

按照惯例，宣布一下本次考试的小状元：王楷同学。新学期加入就勇夺冠军，很厉害哈！其他几位同学也都很棒（原来还有些担心卷子会不会太难，没想到大家都答得很棒！）不过还是有一些原本可以避免的粗心错误。记得以后一定要养成检查的好习惯！

下周是online class，我们会上新课。基于online class的特点，我们会把第七章 Time提前到这次上。老师会找一些认钟表的在线小游戏，给同学们来玩。下周见！

Bilingual Midterm Exam + Wild China

Dear Parents,

Today we had our midterm exam (speaking test). The students came to have a conversation with me one by one, and was asked to talk about specific topics including greetings, age, family, numbers, colors, animals, clothes, fruits and food and so on. Most of the kids have done a great job! Please see the report card for each student.

The students watched the video of Wild China 美丽中国 made by BBC when they were waiting for the speaking test. Hope they will be interested in the Chinese nature and culture.

Math K Chapter 5 Division

今天我们学习了第五章：除法（课本54-59页）。

小朋友们先看了一个关于三兄弟分糖果的小故事https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6akU6vUJmbQ，然后一起讨论了书本里的题目。

我们还用雪花片来模拟分糖果。12颗糖果给2人、3人、4人、6人平均分，每人分到几颗？

然后我们把数字加到18，再看分给2/3/6/9人，如何分？（家长们在家里可以做类似的游戏）。主要帮助孩子理解“平均分配”和“分组”的概念。

下周我们期中考试，好好复习哦！

Prepare for the midterm exam next week (oral test）

Midterm：

Students are required to 1)have short conversations with me (one by one). The topics are in our textbook, including:

1. Greetings

2. Counting numbers

3. Colors

4. Family and family members

5. Food (Fruits, vegetables, others)

6. Clothes

7. Animals

8. Names (Given name and family name)

and 2) read passages in the textbooks (I will randomly pick any of them. Each student can have 3 hints from me when they cannot read certain character or words.

Math K: 4.3. Multiplication Within 40

今天我们学习了4.3课，40以内乘法。书本50-53页。现在同学们还是主要靠数个数来找到类似于4*5=20的问题的答案，（想象下，9*9=？小朋友是不是要数得头晕眼花啦！）或者通过简单的计算，比如3*4=4+4+4=12。不过数字再大些，最快最直接的办法，还是万能的乘法口诀表！

热身运动环节，Mason/大宇/Justin/王楷同学先后上台背诵了部分乘法口诀表，Sophie也向大家展示了她国内带出来的铅笔盒（上面印着小九九！）让李老师大开眼界（重温童年的记忆^_^）

本周作业：
1. 练习册73-82页（个别同学前面因为特殊原因未完成的，请后面慢慢补上来哦）
2. 继续熟悉乘法口诀表

Bilingual 03/10: Review Lesson and Book Report

Dear Parents,

Today we had a review lesson:) We checked all the previous homework, went through several boardbooks with animals and colors in Chinese，drew fruits/ vegetables, and played a game of "telephone" in class.

I prepared 8 bilingual story books for the students (one for each) and asked them to bring home to read ( Parents may help the young kids for the reading, and the pictures and English part can also help understand the story). Please take good care of my books (actually they belong to my two kids :P ), and bring it back to school next Saturday.

This week there is no homework in the workbook. The students are required to finish a book report (you can apply different ways to do it: Chinese/English/drawings and so on).

Here are some formats for you (I downloaded from the internet, and the bilingual version was made by our PTO). Choose one and print it out, and fill in the blanks to make a nice and colorful book report（Or you can find something else, or even design by your own!）. Please hand it in next week:)

Students who can do a great job in the book report will receive a sticker from Ms.Li:)
